Command Major Fire Department Emergency Operations
- Assess the situation/determine incident complexity
- Report on conditions to dispatch
- Gain situational awareness of incident environment
- Determine incident objectives
- Establish immediate priorities
- Establish a command post
- Establish an appropriate organization
- Request additional resources
- Ensure recall of off-duty personnel and continued city emergency services
- Implement an incident action plan
- Assign specific work tasks
- Establish a fireground personnel accountability system
- Adjust strategy and/or tactics to reflect changing conditions in the incident
- React to a critical incident within the incident
- Ensure that adequate safety measures are in place
- Coordinate with key people and officials
- Keep Fire Chief and City officials informed of incident status
- Release information to the news media
- Utilize necessary references
- Initiate documentation to record essential information and cost recovery
- Coordinate cause/origin investigation
- Direct orderly demobilization and release of resources
